Ali Yerlikaya, Governor of Istanbul

He was born in Konya, on 11 October 1968.

After completing his primary and high school education in the same city, he graduated from the department of Public Administration, Faculty of Political Science at Istanbul University in 1989.

In 1990, he started his duty as a candidate governor in the Ministry of Interior.
He was appointed as the Governor of the district of Felahiye in Kayseri in 1993.
He then served as the Governor of Hilvan (Şanlıurfa) and Sarıkaya (Yozgat) districts respectively.

He was appointed as the Legal Consultant in the Ministry of Interior on 29 May 2003, and as the General Staff Manager in the Ministry of Health on 9 February 2004.

He served as the Governor of Şırnak between 13.12.2007-17.05.2010, as the Governor of Ağrı between 23.05.2010-09.08.2012, as the Governor of Tekirdağ between 17.08.2013-03.03.2015, and as the Governor of Gaziantep between 05.03.2015-03.11.2018.

Governor Yerlikaya, who was appointed to the Governorship of Istanbul with the Presidential Appointment Decree number 2018/20 that was published on 26 October 2018, has for kids with Mrs. Hatice Nur Yerlikaya.
